Product Information
This handmade pinecone feather ornament shows a different side of the knobcone. Instead of cutting across the cone, the knobcone is sliced vertically to expose its long, flowing interior layers, which form a natural feather-like shape. It belongs on the tree at Christmas, and it can stay out all year anywhere in the house that's out of strong direct sun.
The real pinecone was gathered near Mt. Shasta in Northern California, then selected, cleaned and prepared. It was cut, shaped, sanded and finished by hand in McCloud, California, and sealed with UV-hardened marine-grade epoxy for a glossy surface that brings out the cone's grain.
The knobcone pinecones are gathered by hand near Mt. Shasta in Northern California. Gathering focuses on cones found on branches brought down by wind, snow or other natural conditions rather than removing cones from living trees.
The feather ornament makes a keepsake gift for hikers, runners, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone with a connection to Mt. Shasta or Northern California.
Because the feather shape comes directly from a real pinecone, every ornament has its own outline, pattern and color, and yours will vary from the photo.
